Volunteers

Fifteen new members of the Family Support Volunteer team have now completed their training and orientation, or as it is more commonly known “a day on the road with the nurses”. Sincere thanks to all our volunteers who provided much appreciated support for our families especially over the holiday period.

Welcome to new members of Karuna’s nursing team

Helen Jenkinson:
“I am the youngest member of the nursing team! Originally from the UK I moved to the warmer climate at the end of last year. Previously I worked in inpatient Palliative Care. Now I am enjoying being part of the Karuna team and caring for people at home. Karuna is unique in its appreciation of individual’s as spiritual beings.”

Karren Fuerst:
“Definitely not the youngest member of the nursing team! Instead I have many years of experience in community nursing. I love caring for our clients and their families in their own home and feel privileged that people share so much with us. I hope to see Karuna grow over the coming years, so more people can experience its kindness, compassion and courage.”
